Civil Rights Litigation
The Firm has extensive experience representing public entities and employees in federal and state courts in actions claiming constitutional violations, including claims involving search and seizure, use of force and other police practices; jail condition of confinement; First Amendment free speech, association and religion, and privacy rights brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, RICO, the Bane Act and the Unruh Act.
Commercial Litigation
The Firm counsels and represents business clients regarding many commercial litigation matters, including contract enforcement and unfair business practices.
Construction Law and Litigation
The Firm counsels and represents large, mid-size, and small contractors in a wide variety of matters, including entity formation, commercial and residential contract negotiation and formation, government compliance, licensing, and in the resolution of legal and administrative claims. The Firm regularly represents and counsels contractors in the prosecution and defense of claims arising from public and private construction projects.
Contract Litigation
The Firm has handled a wide variety of contract disputes in most, if not all, of our practice areas, including commercial/business contracts, contracts involving real property, construction, employment and insurance policies/contracts.
Education Law
The Firm has considerable experience in representing school districts and district employees in state and federal court in a variety of matters, including special education, employment disability, student discipline and public contracting, in matters brought under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the United States Constitution, the California Constitution, the California Education Code, the California Public Contact Code and various employment laws.
